6th Grade Intermediate Band
The 6th Grade Intermediate Band program builds on the foundation established in 5th Grade, offering students more advanced musical experiences and performance opportunities. Students continue their daily rehearsals during genius hour at Glenwood Intermediate School.
The Intermediate Band focuses on:
- More challenging band literature
- Development of individual and ensemble sound
- Expanded range and technical exercises
- Advanced rhythmic counting and reading
- Introduction to jazz music
Students in the Intermediate Band have several performance opportunities throughout the year, including:
- SEMA Solo & Ensemble contests
- IESA organization contests
- Various school performances
Performance Opportunities
The Symphonic Band offers students the chance to perform in various settings, both within and outside the school community. These performances help students develop their musicianship while fostering school pride and community engagement.
