6th Grade Intermediate Band

The 6th Grade Intermediate Band program builds on the foundation established in 5th Grade, offering students more advanced musical experiences and performance opportunities. Students continue their daily rehearsals during genius hour at Glenwood Intermediate School.

The Intermediate Band focuses on:

  • More challenging band literature
  • Development of individual and ensemble sound
  • Expanded range and technical exercises
  • Advanced rhythmic counting and reading
  • Introduction to jazz music

Students in the Intermediate Band have several performance opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • SEMA Solo & Ensemble contests
  • IESA organization contests
  • Various school performances

Performance Opportunities

Intermediate Band students have the opportunity to showcase their musical growth through:

  • Competitive performances at SEMA Solo & Ensemble contests
  • Participation in IESA organization contests
  • School concerts and events

These performances help students develop confidence and refine their musical skills while representing Glenwood Intermediate School.
